Morning Thought: Stop rewriting that scene!

I mean it. Stop! Shitty first drafts are meant to be shitty and perfection is a lie we tell ourselves to stop us achieving our goals. So step away from that scene and start looking at the bigger picture. You CAN finish your work, so stop placing unnecessary roadblocks in your own way. I guarantee you that by the time you get to the end, you’ll have the solution to your problem.

Perfection is a lie we tell ourselves to hide from the truth. We all fuck up.

Gathering your Thoughts

So, I’m new to this whole ‘blogging’ thing.

And it turns out that having a page on your website where people can find all the information about a certain topic (my ‘Morning Thoughts’ collection) is great. But, it also doesn’t let people know when it’s been updated because, well, it’s not a blog post. It’s a page on your website, Julia.

Today, I learned.

And in celebration of fucking up (and learning!) I’m going to pop my morning thought collection here for you all to find.

It will all still be there on my Thought of the Day page – so you don’t have to scroll through all my Blog Posts – but they will be published here, too. A mini daily podcast, if you will.

As for now, well, my darlings, you get all four ‘episodes’ in one go.

No one ever said that you had to do it all at once.
We all fuck up, but the key to turning it into a success, is to embrace it.
Are you stuck for ideas? Do you feel as if you’ve been running on fumes for days? Weeks? Months? Stop. Take a breath. Allow your body to process what’s been happening. Trust me. It’s amazing how many problems you’ll solve by staying still.
I will be forever grateful to my friend for teaching me what perspective truly means and why it’s so important.

How to Jump Through Realities and Keep your Characters Consistent

This morning, I woke up thinking about Strawberries. Now, that in and of itself isn’t, in the grand scheme of things, all that strange. However, these strawberries were flying. Let me explain…
